The entrepreneurship cell of the PCTE Group of Industries organised a national-level awareness programme (NLAP 2020) with the aim to motivate the youth for entrepreneurship and make them ‘job providers instead of job seekers’. The programme was conducted by the officials of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
Ravi Kant, head, National SC-ST Hub Office, Ludhiana; Rajesh Kumar, assistant director, MSME Development Institute, Ludhiana; and Ashish Chaudhary, deputy manager, National Small Industries Corporation, were the resource persons for the programme.
The officials apprised students of various schemes under the Government of India for fostering entrepreneurship among the youth. Students were encouraged to take up entrepreneurship and were educated about the schemes implemented by the Ministry through audio/visual films/presentations and brochures.
Students of MBA and other departments found the programme highly enlightening for creating startups and efficient management in entrepreneurship.
Prof Naresh Sachdev, dean, Corporate Relations, PCTE Group of Institutes, stated that such events helped students to think out-of-the-box and motivated them to opt entrepreneurship as a successful career option.
KNS Kang congratulated the cell for successfully holding the event. He said the institute believed that extracurricular activities could infuse a fresh lease of enthusiasm and motivation in students and encouraged students to participate in more such events.
