Delhi, 22 December (HS): Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari highlighted the growing indigenous defense capability of India during the 20th Subroto Mukherjee Seminar, organized by the Center for Air Power Studies on Friday.
He mentioned how this has opened doors for partnerships and exports, with Indian aerospace platforms like the light combat aircraft, light combat helicopters, and Akash missile systems becoming credible options for air forces of other countries.
He also released books written by two Air Force officers during the seminar. In his address, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari emphasised India’s active role in raising the concerns of countries in the Global South. He spoke about the relevance of air power and fostering strategic partnerships, while also highlighting the Indian Air Force’s contribution to the collective advancement of the Global South.
The Air Chief Marshal also mentioned how the Indian Air Force has been sharing best practices in operations and maintenance with partner countries through regular training activities, and has trained over 5000 foreign trainees in the last nine years from countries in the Global South.
He also reiterated the role of Indian aerospace platforms in providing competitive and credible alternatives for air forces around the world, further boosting India’s economic and technological dominance. Overall, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari’s address highlighted India’s significant role in the global arena and its growing defense capabilities.
