What is a Geographical Indication (GI) Tag?
A Geographical Indication (GI) tag is a sign used on products that have a specific geographical origin and possess qualities, reputation, or characteristics that are essentially attributable to that place of origin. It serves to protect the uniqueness and reputation of products associated with a particular region, thereby preventing others from using the same name for similar products that do not originate from that region.
