Electric buses will improve connection at major Ghaziabad rapid rail stations

Ghaziabad, 8 Nov (HS): In partnership with Ghaziabad’s municipal transport department, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has linked 50 buses with important stations on the priority stretch of the Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor, giving passengers with last-mile connection. According to an NCRTC news release, the 50 air-conditioned electric buses running on various routes in Ghaziabad have begun making stops at the Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, and Duhai RRTS stations.

These buses stop in designated bus drop-off lanes near the entry/exit gates at all major stations. Namo Bharat train commuters can join these busses from these locations to continue their journey.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 17-kilometer priority portion of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) Corridor in October. It links Sahibabad to Duhai Depot via Ghaziabad, Guldhar, and Duhai.

Notably, the Delhi Transport Department (DTC) currently operates a 20-minute bus service between the Anand Vihar bus station and the Sahibabad RRTS station. From 6.20 a.m. to 9.35 p.m., busses run from Anand Vihar bus station to Sahibabad. Buses to Anand Vihar bus station are accessible from Sahibabad from 07:05 a.m. to 10:20 p.m.

With increased bus connection, commuters from Ghaziabad’s rural regions like as Bikanpur, Milak Chakarpur, Shahpur Nij Morta, Basantpur Senthali, and Ataur Nagla may now utilize the RRTS’s priority section.
